My Story, as I remember it

I am Roger Holloway.  Born in 1950 – Indianapolis, Indiana.  Still alive and clicking.  And this is my story, as I remember it. 704-345-3400.

Ahh, 1962. Rounding the corner of North Capitol Avenue at Westfield Boulevard, at the Canal, on the way to 56th and Illinois. My trusty little transistor radio in my hand, tuned to 1310 WIFE. And the song I cannot shake to this day – “The Twist” with Chubby Checker. Not that I danced! Not that I twisted the night away. But this singer – just 9 years older than me – took the Hank Ballard song and twisted it up a bit. So, as a twelve-year old music lover, with the rock n roll just seeming to begin, this song hit me. Timing is everything, and this song was first released in 1960, but I wasn’t quite there yet. It’s re-release in 1962 hit charts again, and got my attention.

It’s on for me. Music, rock n roll, soul, R&B, the sixties. And I was so blessed to also be exposed to cross-cultural relationships, as my grade school (PS 86 at 49th and Boulevard Place, across the street from famed Hinkle Fieldhouse, Butler University) was well-integrated. The music was crossover, too. Early memories are made of this. Little did I suspect that the seeds for my music career and my on-air radio career had been planted.

That’s for your interest in my story. Currently, I have a spiritual blog at ZoeFellowship.com and a thriving real estate business in Charlotte NC at RogerHollowayHomes.com which is fuelled by my YouTube.com/RogerHolloway channel. Oh, and then there’s the very famous YouTube celebrity Jack The Real Estate Dog.

And I’m happier than I’ve ever been in my life!
